Keeping it rolling

During the traditional single lessons, the focus is on you in a 1:1 session allowing you to obtain the maximum benefit from the session.
Alexander Technique is a basic technique. You learn to perceive yourself and other human beings more consciously and to pay attention to the signals of your body and concentrate on your needs.

With this quotation, Marjory Barlow reminds us of an important point. While getting to know our thought- and movement behaviour better we examine ourselves, during the lesson, and look at our habits too. Some of them are disturbing and hampering, others in turn are very useful, necessary and beneficial. Often we take ourselves much too seriously and emphasise our shortcomings and mistakes instead of our competencies and skills. These are thought patterns which do not really motivate us but make our lives unnecessarily burdensome. Yet they let us change, if we really want to. Sometimes it is more helpful to laugh at oneself then to be so strict with oneself.

To perceive oneself in a sensual way in movement can become the catalyst to achieving more enjoyment in life and vitality.
